Change of Step Highland Dance Company

Marielle performs mainly with the professional highland dance company, Change of Step. Formed by a dynamic group of world-class dancers from Nova Scotia and Ontario, Change of Step breathes new life into traditional highland dancing. Their original choreography is rooted in Scottish tradition, yet shaped by modern influences and showcases the musicality, grace, and athleticism of highland dancing.

Solo Performance, Choreography & Collaboration

Marielle also frequently performs both as a solo performer, and in collaboration with other dancers and artists. One of her greatest passions lies in choreography, as she has been choreographing award-winning solo and group numbers from a young age, and choreographs for Change of Step along with its other members. In 2017, she choreographed and performed a trio with the two other 2016 World Highland Dance Champions (Erin Blair, Juvenile World Champion; Emma Schiff, Junior World Champion) for the 125th Anniversary Conference for the British Association of Teachers of Dancing in Glasgow, Scotland. Through her solo and Change of Step performances, she has appeared alongside many notable artists including: Ashley MacIsaac, Anna Ludlow, Beolach, Breabach, Cassie and Maggie MacDonald, Chrissy Crowley, Coig, Mac Morin, Seudan, Squid Precision Drummers, The Outside Track, and Wendy MacIsaac, among others.
